Intel Mac users running Windows on their Mac can now update the drivers in Boot Camp to enable support for Apple’s Studio Display.

Apple regularly updates Boot Camp to introduce support for new hardware, along with typical compatibility and performance improvements. In a March update to the software, Apple enabled Boot Camp to work with the new Studio Display.

The update that brings Boot Camp to version 6.1.17, spotted by Reddit, introduces two important support elements. First, it adds compatibility for the Studio Display, so Intel Mac users with Windows can still use the monitor without any problems.

The update also includes AMD graphics driver updates, changes that are especially useful for eGPU users.

Boot Camp, Apple’s software for running Windows on Mac hardware, is available for use on Intel-based Macs. Apple Silicon Macs can run Windows within a virtual machine in macOS, meaning Studio Display support is available by default as long as macOS is up to date.

While the Studio Display works on Windows desktops, macOS-specific features like Center Stage for the webcam don’t work.
